give skin a sporting chance

cropAs remarkable as it seems, it looks like we’re actually going to have something closely resembling a summer this year. We even had a dry Wimbledon for once (I was lucky enough to see the men’s quarters this year and thankfully, was in the shady bit of Centre Court or I’d have been BBQ’d alive. Next up, of course, is The Ashes.

So if you’re off to witness England’s batting prowess (or lack thereof, depending on how you look at it) make sure you’re fully prepared. For starters plonk a hat on your head (I bought the nifty one is the pic  from Urban Outfitters the day before heading to the All England Club and it was a snip at just £12.99), take Dermalogica’s Solar Defence Booster SPF30 with you (it’s small enough to fit in your pocket and is good for vulnerable boys like the cheekbones, nose and ears), slather on a suncream with a minimum SPF of 15 elsewhere and stay smelling sweet with my fave deo – Clinique’s roll on anti-perspirant which is also small enough to take with you in case you need to ‘top up’ during the test match. Just a few tips for giving your skin a sporting chance this summer.

  1. And if you’re mooching around the house, don’t be scared to get your feet out ;) Stinky Petes, Plates of Meat – you can run but you can’t hide. Get those babies out and aired before you hit the beach with the family (school holidays!) or hop on a plane to soak up some sun elsewhere!

  2. I use a tanning bed to at least get my base tan – I tend now to burn as much then.

  3. Also remember to protect your eyes – wear some polarized sun glasses your eyes will thank you for it :)
